Carolyn Garbuschewski Scholarship

The Carolyn Garbuschewski Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of a Montessori teacher and dedicated volunteer whose unwavering commitment to Montessori education left a lasting impact on teachers at every stage of their careers.

Carolyn first came to Harborlight Montessori as the grandmother of two boys who attended the school. Before long, she became much more than a community member – she was a mentor, guide, and cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

This scholarship recognizes Carolyn’s extraordinary contributions, which included sourcing books for young readers, creating handmade Montessori materials, organizing the school library, assisting with learning skills for individual students, and offering a listening ear to teachers. Her open heart and thoughtful guidance provided support in both the personal and professional journeys of educators.

The Carolyn Garbuschewski Scholarship continues her legacy by empowering emerging teachers to pursue their Montessori teacher education, furthering the mission of nurturing compassionate and dedicated educators who will carry Carolyn’s spirit of service, creativity, and connection into their own classrooms.
