MONTESSORI OVERVIEW COURSE

This course is for non-credentialed teachers working in a Montessori classroom, Heads of Schools, parents, Board members, and serves as a required prerequisite for Infant & Toddler and Elementary Adult learners who do not hold an AMS, AMI, or MACTE recognized Montessori Early Childhood credential.

The curriculum includes the Dr. Montessori’s life and work, a History of Montessori, Montessori Philosophy, Planes of Development, Preparation of the Environment, Preparation of the Adult, Observation, and foundational lessons and materials in Early Childhood.

This 40-hour course is conducted in-person at Harborlight Montessori in Beverly, MA.

MONTESSORI ASSISTANT TEACHER TRAINING

This course is for all non-credentialed teachers working in a Montessori classroom, specials teachers (music, art, etc.) substitute teachers, etc.

The curriculum includes all of the essential tools required for supporting the prepared Montessori environment, guiding children, and working professionally in a Montessori community. Topics covered are: introduction to Montessori principles and philosophy, learning how to observe and when to interrupt or provide support (and when not to), guiding independence, balance of freedom and discipline, role of the adult, professional ethics, and communication with children, parents, and colleagues.

This 12-hour course is conducted in-person at Harborlight Montessori in Beverly, MA.
